Do you know the story called The Princess and the Pea? How about The Emperor's New Clothes? Both stories were written by the same person: Hans Christian Andersen.H.C. Andersen was a famous Danish writer. He also wrote The Ugly Duckling, Thumbelina and The Little Mermaid. Children around the world have enjoyed his stories for over a hundred years.
Danes (that's what you call people who live in Denmark) are very proud of Mr. Andersen, and the main street of the capital Copenhagen is named in his honour. Below you can see a statue of Mr. Andersen on the main street.
The Little Mermaid statue is a big tourist attraction in Copenhagen.
