Bath

Yesterday I went to the beautiful and very interesting English city called "Bath."

It takes about an hour and a half to travel west by train from London to Bath. Bath is very near another English city called Bristol. Ms. Ferguson used to live there; you should ask her if she's ever been to Bath.

Not surprisingly, Bath is best known for its water. Hot mineral water comes up from deep beneath the ground, and people started to bathe in the relaxing waters centuries ago.

When the Romans were in Britain they built huge pools for people to use. Although you can no longer go in them, you can visit the remains of the incredible Roman buildings.

Bath was a very popular place in the 1700's, when it was fashionable to come from London to enjoy the warm waters of Bath. Many beautiful homes were built, and they are still being used to this day.
